A Peek at What's Going on in The Club.

*  The Club has recently completed adapting one of the Down The Line traps ( the one usually used for practice on Thursdays) to a token in the slot operation.

You purchase a $5 token from either the Treasurer or Mick and  insert it in the slot of the operations box.   The system is set to give you 26 targets at the usual call of "pull".      But be warned,  the  loud chatter and rude remarks made when your mates miss sitters also sets off the system, so that's one less target for you.    From now on the noise of each shot will be all that disturbs the peace and quiet.   Members with a Scotch background take note.
There is also another difference.   When a group of people have started shooting others cannot join in that particular squad until the first group have finished.   Say the first squad is of 4 shooters, they will have entered 4 tokens expecting 104 targets (26 each).   If a 5th person enters another token then it  is beyond the scope of the system to adjust to cut out after the original 104 targets and continue with the new 26.   The original four will continue and benefit with targets rightfully belonging to the late comer.
So shoot in squads and wait for the first group to complete their targets before your turn comes.

From the Club's point of view asking shooters to pay for the tokens prior to shooting  enables us to maintain a better control of the activity, and safety after all is our key concern.   We will also find that collection of  practice moneys easier monitor.

Other Safety Matters.     (Members Note!)

The Club has two members (Neil and Colin) who are experienced in Government Occupational Health and Safety procedures.   They have been busy addressing an area of potential injury, namely the traps for throwing our clays.      These machines are dangerous to untrained persons.
To meet our commitments to safety, the Club has decided to introduce a training program for some members in the correct techniques for loading,  adjusting and maintenance of traps.
Only these members are to enter trap houses.     Notices to this effect are placed inside the trap house doors.

The Club's June Shoot.               (See Program page for details.)

This event has been dedicated to the memory of two of the Club's members who passed away in the past year.

Rod Scott
Ulysses Rosetto

Rod and Ulysses contributed to the development and running of the Cub in the early days and then over many years.  They are sadly missed.      This event in their honour  will remind today's members of their legacy
